About Biigtigong Nishnaabeg First Nation
The traditional territory of Biigtigong Nishnaabeg is located off the Trans Canada highway, approximately 350 km north of Sault Ste. Maries. The land base stretches over more than 820 acres, which is important to its member population of 500 citizens. Students residing on-reserve attend the Pic River Elementary School. Previously known as the Ojibways of Pic River Elementary school, Biigtigong Nishnaabeg believes in higher education to promote the growth and capacity of the individual, the community and the Nation.
