About Dokis First Nation
Dokis First Nation is located on 25 km of gravel road from the High way 64, that connects to the two close cities; North Bay, and Sudbury. The community is located on the Northern island called “Okikendawt Island”, meaning (Island of the Buckets/Pails). Dokis First Nation has a land base that is 39,000 acres. The member population is 1256. There is a school on the Reserve and the students on-Reserve attend Dokis Indian Day School (Kikendawt Kinoomaadii Gaming) and the grades five to twelve attend Off-Reserve schools, Northern Secondary, and Montville Public School.
On-Reserve Services
Services, programs, and resources managed by the First Nation and accessed by community citizens within the First Nation are categorized as “On-Reserve Services”.
