About Munsee-Delaware First Nation
Munsee Delaware Nation is located on the Northern shore of the Thames River, that is 25 km Southwest of London Ontario. Munsee covers about 1054 hectares, that is around 3 square km. Munsee’s member population is 547, 170 are living on-Reserve. Munsee Delaware Nation is a community that is developing a self-sufficient and sustainable economy. This community is creating jobs for their youth by the Green Economy, which is the Munsee Tree Corporation. Munsee has even created a Forestry Program for the First Nations youth across Ontario, to work towards a beneficial environment.
On-Reserve Services
Services, programs, and resources managed by the First Nation and accessed by community citizens within the First Nation are categorized as “On-Reserve Services”. These may include services offered by the First Nation’s administrative office (the Band), or through other organizations located on-reserve. Off-Reserve Services
Many Indigenous services available to on-reserve and off-reserve citizens can be found in surrounding urban communities. Categorized as “Off-Reserve Services”, these multi-functional services and organizations, such as Indigenous Friendship Centres and Health Units, offer a wide-range of services, programs and amenities geared toward Indigenous clients.
