About Wahnapitae First Nation

Wahnapitae First Nation is located on the North of Ontario. The land base is 1036 hectares. The traditional name of this First Nation is called Wahnapitaeping, it means “Place where the water is shaped like a tooth”. This community has been working towards preserving its natural environment and economic development. The preservation is crucial along with their Anishinaabe culture and traditions. The total population is 340 members and 92 live on-Reserve. There is no school on this Reserve.

Categorized as “Off-Reserve Services”, these multi-functional services and organizations, such as Indigenous Friendship Centres and Health Units, offer a wide-range of services, programs and amenities geared toward Indigenous clients.
