Description of Services:
First Nations community of the Oneida peoples * operates independently according to long standing spiritual and cultural traditions * administers own community development, health, learning, safety and public works programs
- Band Representative Program Ensures the safety and security of all children who are registered, eligible to be registered and community members of Oneida Nation of the Thames
- Community Wellness Promotes healthy healing and wellness programs and community development
- Fire Department Fire suppression * Fire Safe Program * prevention, detection and escape education * Mutual Aid response * responds to some medical/trauma calls with paramedics when requested
- Health and Wellness Services Health centre focused on family and community health * health professionals assess and treat non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses * referrals to other local health services and personal development groups available on and off reserve
- Life-Long Learning - Oneida Education Centre Education programs for members of the community
- Oneida Nation Paramedic Services (EMS) Ensures vulnerable people entering the health care system through the ambulance system receives efficient and timely assessments, treatments and transportation to the proper facility
- Onyota'a:ka Family Healing Lodge Offers emergency shelter for up to 6 weeks for people and families who are at risk of or in a violent family situation * offers supports, outreach, referrals and advocacy * activities for children * assistance with goal planning and safety planning * year round workshop training and information sessions
- Police Department Policing services for residents and visitors
- TSI'Nu:Yoyantle'Na'Tuhuwatisni 64-bed long-term care home * residential care for private and basic rooms * 24-hour nursing and personal care * access to a doctor and other health professionals
