Description of Services:

Provides culturally sensitive maternity care, including prenatal, labour, birth and postnatal care

Provides skilled physical and emotional support during labour

Provides clinical monitoring after birth, in addition to continued emotional support, information and guidance

Offers a choice of birthplace, including home birth, water birth or hospital birth

Works with other health professionals to share care of clients if concerns arise during pregnancy, labour, birth or postpartum

Offers postnatal visits to examine breastfeeding, the baby's weight, the mother's physical and emotional well being and to discuss family planning and the first year of feeding
