Application

Referral and application can be made by anyone (relative, friend, the prospective client, social worker, nurse, doctor)
Cancellations can be made 24/7, but to avoid charges call before 9 am on the day of delivery

Volunteer Application is available on the website and can be submitted to the Program Manager at Pioneer Ridge, 750 Tungsten St

Eligibility - Population(s) Served

Individuals 18 years of age and older who are unable to prepare adequate and nourishing meals on a day-to-day basis due to chronic illness or convalescence, lack of strength, skill, motivation, or cooking facilities
Individuals who do not have anyone else in the household able to help prepare meals
Individuals must be able to feed themselves, manage on weekends and be home to receive the meal
Respite care for family caregivers

Description of Services:

Provides a home-delivered nourishing meal to individuals who are unable to prepare a meal on their own

Prepares meals according to individuals' diet requirements (includes hot soup and a hot entrée consisting of meat, starch, two types of vegetables and cold dessert)

Delivers meals through volunteers who provide regular social contact and check on the health and safety of the client

Offers volunteer opportunities for adults, service groups, corporate volunteers and students as drivers or servers
