Does not provide funding to individuals

  • Program is made available to all children and youth

  • Parents and/or caregivers contribute financially or by volunteering in program

  • Organizers provide activity and financial reports on regular basis

  • Program must show that parents and local community have provided funding

  • Indicates separate line in bank account under its own name

Description of Services:

  • Provides financial support for snack and meal programs in schools, including First Nations schools
  • Funding amount is limited to a maximum of 15% of total estimated cost
  • Provides information on applying for funding
  • Processes grant requests from local communities and schools
  • Coordinates distribution of funds from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services to local snack and meal programs
  • Participates in regional partnerships and fund-raising efforts
  • Supplies local programs with resources including nutritional information, meal and snack menus and managing volunteers
