Description of Services:
Seniors' Mental Health - Regional Consultation Service (SMH-RCS) functions as a regional tertiary psychiatric out-patient service. SMH-RCS collaborates with North East Behavioural Supports Ontario and key stakeholders to provide specialized community outreach consultation services for older adults residing in private homes, retirement homes, or long-term care homes within the North Bay District.
SMH-RCS provides mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment recommendations and follow-up for older adults with late-onset mental health concerns as well as supportive education and counseling for family care partners. The program assists older adults with age-related psychiatric disorders and their caregivers.
SMH-RCS also facilitates outreach leadership throughout the Northeast by providing clinical support and education to satellite community seniors' mental health programs.
