Description of Services:
Community-based centre offering services for newcomer women, children and youth, and seniors from diverse backgrounds as they integrate into Canada
Women Services
A wide range of programs and services are offered aiming to empower immigrant women * programs include:
Children (ages 6-12) and Youth (13-24) Services
Group activities and social events are delivered after school, on PA days and throughout March Break and summer * Programs include:
Seniors Services
A space where seniors can develop friendship, enhance knowledge and skills for daily life, promote physical and mental wellness and participate in social activities * Programs include:
Women Services
A wide range of programs and services are offered aiming to empower immigrant women * programs include:
- parenting skill training
- communication and conflict resolution training
- health and wellness ie. yoga, zumba, mental health workshops series and stress management support group
- WE (Women Empowerment) program through volunteering
- program through volunteering
- computer skills training
- English conversation circle
- food handler certificate training
- First Aid and CPR training
- SOAR Program
Children (ages 6-12) and Youth (13-24) Services
Group activities and social events are delivered after school, on PA days and throughout March Break and summer * Programs include:
- English language & academic mentorship support
- STEM workshop
- pre-employment training
- education pathways resources
- leadership training
- community engagement & volunteer opportunities
- life skills training (e.g. First Aid & CPR training)
- festival celebrations and events
- field trips and recreational activities
- March break and summer camps
Seniors Services
A space where seniors can develop friendship, enhance knowledge and skills for daily life, promote physical and mental wellness and participate in social activities * Programs include:
- orientation to Ontario
- settlement support group
- income tax clinic
