Description of Services:
Education workshops are available to the general public, family caregivers, as well as healthcare professionals, and are available in-person and online.
Workshop topics include Dementia Awareness, Brain Health, AST Programs and Services, as well as caregiving-specific topics such as Understanding Behaviours and Supportive Communication, Transitioning to Long-Term Care, Navigating the Dementia Care System and more. Certificate training programs are available to health care professionals (i.e. PSWs) and include Dementia Foundations, U-FIRST, U-FIRST Advance, Gentle Persuasive Approaches, Palliative Care in Dementia, and Knowledge 2 Action - Supporting Responsive Behaviours in Dementia Care.
Public Education Coordinators are available to give free presentations to community groups online (via Zoom) or in-person
