Description of Services:
Culturally appropriate programs and services for Indigenous peoples, combining traditional health and Western medical practices * aims to improve the social supports and conditions that affect long-term health
Services are focused or available to five First Nation communities:
Community Health Nurse visits these communities on a regular basis providing the following services:
Health Centre clerk assists registered First Nation clients to access the Non-Insured Health benefits program (NIHB) which includes coverage for prescription medication, medical supplies and equipment, medical transportation, optometry and dental services * Will also assist with claim submissions and appeals for coverage of services
Services are focused or available to five First Nation communities:
- Magnetawan First Nation
- Shawanaga First Nation
- Wasauksing First Nation
- Moose Deer Point First Nation
- Wahta Mohawk Territory
Community Health Nurse visits these communities on a regular basis providing the following services:
- health education
- health promotion
- communicable disease control and immunization
- maternal and child health
- school health \ immunization program
- chronic disease monitoring
- advocacy and referrals to other health services
