No age restrictions * newborns are referred to Plastic Surgery
Fees
Depends on circumstances and treatment, but dental treatment is not covered by the Ontario Health Card * However, children up to age 18 who qualify for eligibility are covered by the Ministry of Health for 75% of orthodontic treatment

Description of Services:
Helps treat, assess and provide care to children affected by Cleft Lip, Palate and/or Cranifacial Conditions
Treatment of cleft lip and palate requires an interdisciplinary approach where many specialists work together to create a systematic and detailed plan to address the needs of a child at every stage of their life
The team is comprised of many specialties, including Registered Nurse (Nurse Coordinator), Plastic Surgeon, Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist, Dentist, Orthodontist, Dental Hygienist, Dental Assistants, Speech Language Pathologist and Audiologists * The first contact with the team will likely be with the Nuse Coordinator who will help you navigate the program.
Also a designated regional centre for the Ontario Cleft Lip and Palate Dental Program which provides financial assistance for the specialized dental needs of affected individuals requiring integrated care due to complex dental/facial anomaly * To determine eligibility for financial assistance through the program, an individual must contact, or be referred to, one
