Description of Services:
Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders
(FASDs) is the umbrella term describing the range of effects that can occur in
an individual who was exposed to alcohol before birth. These effects can result
in physical, cognitive, and behavioural challenges.
With the right support and early interventions, individuals with FASD can build upon their strengths and skills to enhance their quality of life. FASD Coordinators utilize strength-based supports to educate the individual and their circle of care to best understand the impact of their disorder. When an individual approaches adulthood, the FASD Coordinators work collaboratively to help develop a support plan, coordinate services and assist with the transition from children's services to adult services.
