Description of Services:
Supports for young people (ages 4-23) and their families with preventative, early intervention and bridging support services, that include group programs, one to one service, as well as links and referrals to other community services. Programs Include:
- Youth Mental Health Supportive Services - Can be accessed by children and youth aged 7-18 years across Northumberland County who are facing challenges at home, school or in the community with issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, self-regulation, exploring gender identity, interpersonal communication
- Youth Justice Diversion Programs - In partnership with the Crown Attorney, Police Services and Youth Justice System, these restorative justice programs offer diversion from the traditional criminal justice system for youth in conflict with the law who are prepared to be accountable for their actions
- Re-Integrative and Supportive Services - A program for justice involved you in providing support with employment life skills, anger management and substance use, education and support
- Youth Mental Health Court Worker Program - Provides court support, and diversion opportunities offered by the Crown Attorney to youth, aged 12-17, who are in conflict with the law and who have mental health needs
- CHOICES - a proactive life skills group program for children ages 7-12 that facilitates the development of positive life skills by exploring topics such as interpersonal and group communication, emotion regulation, and decision-making. Offered in-office over multiple weeks, and also is offered in classrooms in partnership with school boards.
- On-TRAC - Aimed at assisting youth with social skills development, including anger awareness and interpersonal problem solving. This 10 week program is for youth ages 12-17
- READbound Tutoring and Homework Help Program - Individual tutoring and homework assistance for children and youth aged 4-18, facilitated by trained volunteers
- Triple P Positive Parenting - A parenting program that helps parents and caregivers learn skills and techniques to better manage family problems, as well as gain confidence in parenting by using a variety of strategies and tools
- Trusteeship Program - Rebound is piloting the Trusteeship Program on behalf of Northumberland County Community Social Services. The program supports youth ages 16-17 who are receiving assistance through Ontario Works (OW), youth that are at risk of homelessness or are experiencing homelessness and youth who are unable to return to their family home
- Collaborative 12 and Under Intervention Program (CUIP) - assist children aged 12 and under work through personal difficulties and experiences that may be at home, at school or in the community. Young people experiencing trauma, victimization, school suspensions, risk-taking and/or anti-social behaviors, chronic school absenteeism, violence, or bullying may be appropriate for this program.
- Beyond Books - promotes a love of reading for children and youth aged 9-12
- Guitar lessons - weekly lessons
- Walk-In Mental Health
Clinic - children and
youth walk-in mental health services in partnership with the
Northumberland Hills Hospital, Community Mental Health Clinic. Located at the Northumberland Hills Hospital Community Mental Health Services office, counselling sessions are available for children and youth between ages 7 and 16.
