Description of Services:
Supportive Housing (55 McGrigor Street) - 40 unit rent geared to income apartment building with on-site social work support to assist residents with linkage to community agencies. Onsite counselling. This is permanent housing. Tel: 905 728 5227, mail to: hsg55@ywcadurham.org
2nd Stage Housing (33 McGrigor Street) - Residents of Adelaide House will find safe, comfortable and affordable housing and meals. The program also provides a peer network, professional counselling, advocacy and skills development. Over a maximum 24 months stay, the women will gain skills, connections and confidence to achieve long term success and independence. This program is for women over the age of 18 at risk. Y's WISH Shelter - 15 bed shelter providing safety, security and support for women and their children who are leaving abusive relationships. Meals, clothing and basic necessities are provided free of charge. Tel: 905 576 6743, mail to: shelter@ywcadurham.org
