Supports for people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, and their caregivers
First Link - Networking for people affected by Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia, to a community of learning, services and support * one-on-one counselling * caregiver support groups * referral to community resources by phone, drop in, or home visit * First Link Learning Series offered regularly in various locations
Education Programs and Resources - Education, awareness programs, and resources for the general public and health care providers on Alzheimer's disease
Support Groups and Programs - Support groups and programs for people with dementia, and their families members and friends
Recreational therapy - Provides in-home personalized recreation therapy to people affected by dementia
Behaviour support facilitator - Assists caregivers to develop strategies for clients who are experiencing responsive behaviours
Finding Your Way - Offers practical advice, information, and education on how to keep people with dementia safe
MedicAlert Safely Home - National registry that helps people with dementia to return home safely if they become lost * information will be shared with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police only for locating a missing person * national website: www.safelyhome.ca
Minds in Motion - A program that combines physical, cognitive and social stimulation for individuals with early to mid-stage Alzheimer's disease and other dementias and their care partners * this program runs once a week for eight weeks
Walking Program - For individuals in early to middle stages of dementia and their care partner to enjoy the outdoors, excercise and socialize with friends * every Wednesday 2:30pm-4:30pm
Coffee Club - You and your care partner are invited to join together and connect with friends. Drop in at our Alzheimer Society office every Tuesday 10:30am-12noon
Music and Song - Join us for an afternoon of Music and Song * Please call the Alzheimer Society Office for a list of dates and times for this program
