Application

  • Individuals must complete the Employment Supports Application Package

  • Individuals can apply online or by contacting the office

Eligibility - Population(s) Served

Individuals between 16-65 years of age who must:

  • be a resident of Ontario

  • be able to work in Canada

  • have a disability that is expected to last a year or more, and

  • have a disability that makes it hard to find or keep a job


  • Individuals do not have to be receiving financial assistance from the Ontario Disability Support Program to be eligible for Employment Supports

  • Individuals who are not receiving financial assistance from the Ontario Disability Support Program with a taxable income over $51,000 need to contribute toward the cost of their supports


NOTE: If an applicant is in receipt of CPP - Disability, WSIB, EI, or any other disability insurance benefit, eligibility will need to be reviewed

Individuals cannot receive Employment Supports if they are:

  • eligible for or receiving disability or rehabilitation benefits from other public or private sources, or

  • receiving financial assistance from Ontario Works

Description of Services:

Provides various services and supports to help in securing and maintaining employment or starting a business

Works with the individual to determine required supports to gain or maintain employment which can include:
  • Assistance in finding and keeping a job
  • Computer training
  • Interpreter assistance
  • Preparing for the job
  • Software and mobility devices for job assistance
  • Tools, equipment and clothing for work
  • Training while on the job
  • Transportation assistance (financial)
Works with the individual to start up a business and can:
  • financially help towards the costs of business tools, equipment and supplies, licenses and certification
  • help getting work-related disability supports, such as assistive technology and equipment, interpreter, reader and note taking services
  • help to develop and implement a business plan
  • help with marketing your business
  • train in money management, record keeping and budgeting
