Description of Services:
Provides information, support and workshops that address child and youth development
Focuses on emotional, nutritional, physical and social well-being
Works with various committees and coalitions addressing child health issues
Promotes importance of breastfeeding for first 6 months
Provides information and support on topics related to breastfeeding
Provides breastfeeding mentors through mothers who have successfully breastfed
Produces and distributes newsletter about child health issues
Public health nurses can provide information on topics including:
Healthy eating
Home safety
Interacting with your child
Involving fathers in child rearing
Parenting
Picky eaters
Sleep
Temper tantrums
Toilet training
