Description of Services:

Delivers health and related programs and services to member First Nation communities
  • Assists members with community development to enable First Nations to assume responsibility and to administer health programs themselves
  • Provides nursing care at the Musselwhite Mine Site north of Pickle Lake
Offers advisory and support services in the following areas:

Diabetes Initiative
  • Focuses on the well being and health education of Native people with diabetes
  • Provides a strategy of preventative medicine and promotes self-management of diabetes
Home Support and Long Term Care
  • Focuses on home support services to enable individuals to remain in own home
  • Provides nursing assessment, case management, foot care clinics and advocacy
Infant and Children's Programs
  • Focuses on infant and child health and development through the provision of programs including Aboriginal Healthy Babies Healthy Children, Brighter Futures, Early Childhood Development and Maternal & Child Health
  • Provides prenatal and post natal services for pregnant women and new mothers
Medical Transportation Program
  • Oversees travel arrangements for medical appointments
  • Provides travel expenses for patients, physicians and traditional healer visits
Mental Health
  • Promotes the development of good mental health and provides mental health services
National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program
  • Provides services and supports for community members struggling with problematic substance use issues
  • Focuses on counselling services, support groups and treatment facilities
