Application

The Level 3 Elective Medical Withdrawal Management Service is not an emergency or crisis service and is accessed through the following process: - A Referral form must completed by the primary care provider in order to access these services. - Once the referral is received, a staff member will contact the individual to book an assessment. This helps our program understand the concerns and make a treatment plan. For those who are unable to attend in person, assessment may be provided via video conferencing. Each appointment may take up to one hour to complete. - If the individual meets the service`s criteria and accepted to the program, the individual is placed on a wait-list for admission to the in-patient psychiatric unit.

Description of Services:

The elective inpatient Medical Withdrawal Management service has a multi-disciplinary team of addiction counsellors, social workers, nurses, nurse practitioners and psychiatrists. The team provides a comprehensive medical assessment to determine the appropriateness for admission and to develop a care plan that will guide one through the withdrawal process as safely as possible. Close medical monitoring will be provided for the duration of admission. Once discharged, the individual can choose to continue to be supported through our outpatient community programming.
