Description of Services:

Weeneebayko Area Health Authority - Community Mental Health and Addictions program empowers clients with substance use and problem gambling concerns to identity and access appropriate resources which correspond to their individual needs. We believe that provision of service will be enriched by engaging in management practices which support teamwork and commitment among staff. Our commitment is to provide quality services that respond to the unique needs of the individual and the diverse needs of the community. Weeneebayko Area Health Authority - Community Mental Health and Addictions program provides a variety of support services including: intensive case management, community support, management of clients with concurrent diagnoses, mood disorders, early psychosis, and court support and diversion, public education, follow-up and after care for persons discharged from hospital and self-help initiatives to meet the needs of individuals with a serious/persistent mental illness. Our program services the communities of Attawapiskat, Fort Albany, Kashechewan, Moosonee, Moose Factory, and Peawanuk. Weeneebayko Area Health Authority - Community Mental Health and Addictions has workers stationed at each First Nation community. Psychiatry services are also provided on a regular basis through in person visits, and via the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN).
