Indigenous youth 12-17 years of age from Northwestern Ontario in conflict with the law and are being detained or serving sentences

Description of Services:

Manages a secure custody facility for Indigenous youth in conflict with the law

Aims to reconnect youth with Indigenous heritage and traditions to enhance their capacity to make better choices after the transition to community life
Accommodates 12 youth with separate areas for 8 males and 4 females

Provides the following culturally appropriate rehabilitation programs and services:

A ceremonial space to learn and practice cultural ceremonies
An educational program to help youth further academic studies and develop skills
Traditional teachings and Aboriginal history
Anger management sessions and counselling
Life skills education and training
