  • If an individual meets the eligibility requirements, benefits will be determined automatically

Eligibility - Population(s) Served

Individuals must:

  • Be aged 65 years of age or older

  • Be a resident of Ontario

  • Receive the federal Old Age Security (OAS) and federal Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) payments

  • Have lived in Ontario for the past 12 months, or for a total of 20 years since turning 18

  • Have 10 or more years of Canadian residency

  • Have a total income from all sources that is below the level guaranteed by the province (the guaranteed income level is updated every three months to reflect inflation)
