About Long Lake #58 First Nation
Long Lake #58 First Nation is located along Highway 11 on the Northeast shore of Long lake and next to the town Longlac Ontario. Long Lake #58 First Nation is in between lakes and dense forest. The member population is 1400, 450 are on-Reserve, Off-Reserve members live in the City of Thunder Bay, and parts of Ontario and Manitoba. There is 143 students on-Reserve that attend Eagle Nest Elementary (Migizi Wasisin), and Migizi Miigwanan Secondary School. Lake #58 First Nation has been involved in the importance of contributing to the creation of Ginoogaming and Aroland First Nations. This First Nation and its members are recognised as for their leadership, deal with Aboriginal issues, and the matter of Treaty Rights.
