Description of Services:


EarlyON Child and Family Centres

Three EarlyON Child and Family Centres provide opportunities for children and their caregivers; children play and learn while adults can receive support, advice and community resources;

With programming in parks, libraries, and community centres across Toronto, families are offered:
  • early learning and school-readiness activities
  • early identification services
  • nutritional programs

Newcomer Programs: School Readiness

Ready for School Connects (RfSC) provides newcomer children and their guardians with tools and resources to start school confidently for their first time and to have a smooth transition into kindergarten
  • during a two-week session newcomer parents gain insight and resources to feel confident and ready in September when sending their child to school through workshops that include topics such as "Understanding how the Canadian School System works and how to be a part of it - contact: SupervisorSRI@eyetfrp.ca

Parent Connection Networks

Community set discussion groups and workshops for newcomer women, to support and provide information and connections within their local communities, topics include:
  • civic engagement
  • dental and healthcare
  • child protection laws
  • employment
  • housing supports

Prenatal Programs

East York Healthy Beginnings for Healthy Babies program (EYHBHB) provides information, education, and welcoming support to expecting parents; weekly workshops where you can:
  • enjoy nutritious snacks
  • learn about prenatal health
  • receive breastfeeding support
  • discuss baby's health
  • access nutritional information and resources
  • schedule one-on-one appointments with a Public Health Nurse and Dietitian
  • meet other parents in your community
